My name is Rick Hagedorn. I am the founder of Speedburners, a speed training company based in Orange County, California. I am writing in reference to Joshua Abner, owner of Pure Speed in Kentucky.
I met Josh at a coaching clinic I was speaking at in Oahu at the University of Hawaii. At the time he was a high school coach on the Big Island of Hawaii. Josh approached me afterwards with questions and asked if I would come to his school for a speed camp. I did and he incorporated the Speedburner principles in his training with his track team. We became friends and have stayed in touch with his move to Kentucky.
Josh is a coach. What I mean by that is he is great with athletes. Athletes will always migrate towards good coaches. That’s what Josh’s kids do. In his move to Kentucky he basically started over. I’m glad to see he has founded Pure Speed with the intent of teaching the proper way to train for the athletes of Kentucky.
If you are looking for a program and a coach to teach you how to train for speed, and to take you to the next level, I highly recommend that you look into Pure Speed and Joshua Abner. I do not endorse many in my field, but I do endorse Josh. If I had a young athlete I would want him or her exposed to Josh and his program. Josh is a great man and a great coach who will be highly successful in this field.
